Recently, the New York Post wrote an article on Silver Streak Kennels, highlighting all our efforts in creating a dog-friendly farm – and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Our hearts are full from the overwhelming response that we have received and the donations made on behalf of our dogs.
Many dogs come to Silver Streak in need of extra attention due to poor health or their owner’s unfortunate inability to take care of them anymore. Our home is also a perfect for anyone who is traveling for long periods of time overseas, like teachers or military personnel. Silver Streak offers these individuals a safe and convenient place for their beloved pets, where they can know that their pups will receive the care, love and attention they need and deserve.
As quoted in the New York Post, “For senior dogs, the options used to be bleak until special dog-only retirement homes started cropping up. Instead of that metaphorical ‘farm upstate’ that so many children are told about when they wonder where Spot suddenly disappeared to, there really is, in the case of upstate New York’s Silver Streak Kennels, a beautiful countryside for them to roam.”
We have dedicated our lives to making our country home a safe haven for senior dogs where they can, as the Post puts it, “romp around the idyllic farm’s numerous green pastures.” We hope to be able to continue to offer this safe haven for pets for many years to come.
With so many pets entrusted to our care, we have a constant need for beds, toys, treats and other supplies to keep dogs comfortable and happy. If you would like to help in our efforts, consider making a donation to our dogs. Kuranda recently helped us establish a dog bed donation page online where anyone interested can purchase a new bed for the pets here at the shelter. We’ve already received several new bed donations and deeply appreciate those who have already donated. We also accept donations of treats and toys for the dogs, which can be mailed to us at 129 Bourne Road, Morris, NY 13808.
We appreciate all of the positive messages and donations that we’ve already received following the Post’s coverage, and it warms our hearts to know that our efforts are so appreciated.
